CT Man Charged With Murder After Stabbing Wife In Neck, Police Say

A Connecticut man has been charged with murder for allegedly stabbing his wife in the neck with a knife during a domestic dispute.

New Haven County resident Allen Bell, age 35, of Waterbury, was arrested in Waterbury on Friday, April 19.

According to Lt. Ryan Bessette of the Waterbury Police, officers responded to a home on East Main Street around 5 a.m. on a report of a domestic dispute.

Once inside, officer found a 43-year-old woman who had been stabbed in the neck. She was pronounced dead at the scene, Bessette said.

Bessette said officers also located Bell, the victim's husband, at the home, and a 5-year-old child who was unharmed during the incident. 

The child has since been placed in the custody of the Department of Children and Families (DCF), he added.

Bell was charged with murder and risk of injury to a minor.

He is being held on a $1 million bond pending his court arraignment later Friday.

The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of family members.
